Tilbury organization expands to offer more programming

"Kim is a true hero in our town of Tilbury. Approximately 6 years ago, her daughter, Ashley was killed in a car accident. In order to honour her daughter, Kim formed an organization called “Get Away and Experience Paradise at Ashley’s Place” and just on October 4, 2018, she also opened Ashley’s Place Not for Profit Cafe and Ice Cream Shop. Her organization has over 3000 friends on Facebook. Whether it was planning a bus trip for children in town to the local zoo or delivering food or clothes to our homeless shelters. Kim, thanks for demonstrating a wonderful example of Love. You are a true inspiration!"

" It was very humbling to receive this award, and without this group and all our other members we would would not have been able to achieve what we have over the years for our community. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey, for some of us, it's been over five years. Please know that from a single compliment or "like" to a program, volunteering regularly or funding an entire event each person has made Ashley's Place what it is today. I am incredibly humbled to be receiving the Citizen of the Year Award and know I would not have been nominated if it wasn't for all of you and the special part you play. More than anything I thank God for giving me the strength to absorb the beautiful ideas you all have shared and to work with you to bring them to life.
I look forward to all that is yet to come which I feel is just the beginning.

Just a Few Things Our Not-For-Profit Offers
Get Away and Experience Paradise at Ashley's Place Inc.
Ashley's Place Cafe and Ice Cream Shop, is a small restaurant with a limited menu. Our goal is to offer people a warm place to come, enjoy a meal and feel a part of the community. We offer free soup on Saturdays and free Holiday Meals.
We also rent our cafe for special events. Profit from the Cafe helps to keep Ashley's Place operational and funds many of our programs and activities.
Cafe & Ice Cream Shop
Our Library at Ashley's Place is a safe place to come. Enjoy a book, take a crochet class or come in from the cold.
We offer unlimited resources for those in need. Our volunteers are here to spread love and kindness. All are welcome!

We encourage positivity through funding and organizing activities for youth, caring for the homeless, the lonely and those who just need a smile.
